They say if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together. Our team of volunteers were happy to assist Crescent Care and the New Orleans Health Department with the administration of the Monkeypox vaccine at the University of New Orleans on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. In addition to administering the Monkeypox vaccine, our volunteers established a screening site for obtaining the blood pressures, heart rate, and body temperatures for those waiting to become vaccinated. In this photo, Freestanding Community Community Health Advocates take turns obtaining vital signs on each other prior to assisting members of the campus community. Freestanding Communities remains committed to building resilience in the community and can be found taking steps to elevating health literacy, advocating healthy lifestyles, and assisting with emergency planning in the communities.
