Our team of volunteers were happy to assist the New Orleans Health Department with the administration of this season's Flu vaccine in New Orlean's French Quarter on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Volunteers were arranged into several Strike Teams and established mobile vaccination stations within pre-determined locations in the French Quarter. Once established, the team of vaccinators were able to educate and vaccinate participants on-site, with the information uploaded into the individual's vaccine record on the state's health portal. Freestanding Communities remains committed to building resilience in the community and can be found taking steps to elevating health literacy, advocating healthy lifestyles, and assisting with emergency planning in the communities.
